Findings from the Field Test

The 2006-2007 academic year marks the second year that the FGT materials have been tested in sites throughout the United States. Our professional development materials have been piloted in 29 sites, reaching over 250 teachers.

Data gathered from these sites will serve to inform two important purposes related to our work. First, we continually collect feedback from teachers and facilitators pertaining to the materials themselves. This feedback has (and will continue to) assist us as we develop and revise the materials. Second, the teachers participating in the field test have contributed data related to our research questions pertaining to the effectiveness of our materials and the nature of valuable forms of knowledge for teaching middle grades geometry.
